With summer making its official debut, it’s a great time to get baby sand-ready with the hottest toys for cooling down water-side.

Custom-Showcase: Blockhead Dunnys by Squink

UK-based artist Squink has been consistently producing distinctive character-based customs on vinyl toys for a while now, showcasing eye-popping color aesthetics which belies the depth of cutesy characters he creates and paints, IMHO. Posted here today are two Blockhead Dunny-customs (based on the DEVILROBOT Tofu Dunnys) featuring the current WIP Blockhead Dunny (above-left), while above-right is

Wind up Tin Robots

by Eleanor de Bruin These bulky, well-built robots from Ernest the Bear are decorated with appropriately robotic designs, using lithography. The bright colours and detail give each of the three available designs a unique and slightly sinister look. Just a few quick twists of the robots’ wind-up mechanism and the little tin guys are ready to scoot off across the floor

Gene’s Final Curtain Call ~ Part I

Last night I dressed two of my Gene dolls in fashions recently acquired. They are waiting to be photographed and I visualized them looking over their shoulders as they retreated from the front of a stage on the last night of their performance. In a few days I will have begun to attend my first and last Gene Marshall convention.

Travel Fever

Spring is a great time to get the kids out of the house, start taking trips and plan outings for the whole family. However, Travel + Kids introduces all sorts of new parenting challenges; perhaps you discover that your once angelic toddler turns into a “bolter” when you go to the grocery store, or that your sleek and stylish tote can no longer hold the steamer trunk of supplies necessary for a day at the zoo. As a parent, it can sometimes feel like life is a constant adjustment, a constant search for solutions to new problems that you never knew you had
