Just when you thought it was safe to sleep in your doll room TDC releases Fashion Zombies™! These two creatures are part of Tonner’s Re-Imagination line and are truly knockouts. My favorite is “Death Becomes Her.” I love the promotional photo with it’s grey tones and misty mood. The doll has the Magnolia sculpt, brown eyes and cameo skin tone.

It is the time of the year again for the Fashion Royalty convention. It is the 6th Jason Wu event, taking place in Chicago, one of my favourite cities (and the only US one I have ever been to). Jason is celebrating the 10 years he has been in the fashion doll business and the concept of this convention is that iconic dolls and outfits of the past years will be re-done in a fresh style for this collection

Maybe everyone knows this site already but I just discovered it. All you have to do is upload a bunch of pictures, pick a theme, a presentation format and some music and the program does all the work. I love the way the sepia film look like an old 8mm filmstrip

Until recently Vampires were the stuff of horror novels and movies. Stories of the undead go way back in mythology and folklore but according to Wikipedia, the “charismatic and sophisticated vampire of modern fiction was born in 1819 with the publication of The Vampyre by John Polidori…” “However, it is Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula that is remembered as the quintessential vampire novel and provided the basis of the modern vampire legend.” My Mom told me that when she was a teen she saw the original Dracula movie and was truly terrified. It was reported in newspapers that at the opening of this film, members of the audience actually fainted at seeing the horror

I was looking for a good stock picture of a Farrah Fawcett doll and I got caught up in looking at pictures of the real Farrah. I started to feel the tears come when I saw the gaunt face and pulled muscles on her face because it reminded me of my own mother’s face in her last months. So I present not Farrah, but Michael, whose loss does not cause me emotional pain although it is a great loss to the music world.

Our Rebecca arrived and she is wonderful! As you can see above, we’ve already put her to work modeling a cute sailor outfit that we thought was perfect for her (it even includes the shoes, socks and hat!) We also received and read the six books – here’s our predictions on future products we can expect: 1. Rebecca crochets very, very well – and has a special sewing basket for it. I’m sure that will be coming 2

A while ago the editor of Grazia India , Nadnini Bhalla contacted me about doing a photoshoot with my fashion dolls for the magazine, with them wearing miniature outfits created by Indian fashion designers. She said she loved my Vogue mock up covers and wanted to make something in that context for the photoshoot. Of course I agreed and started planning the whole thing

I’m a little shocked and a lot angry right now. A collector friend just informed me that eBay seller betlasvegas has blatantly stolen a signed and copyrighted image of mine for use in their auctions! What kind of gall ( brazen boldness coupled with impudent assurance and insolence) is that? This person is not new to eBay and knows exactly what he is doing

In late 2008, Integrity ‘s high end doll line, Fashion Royalty (by Jason Wu , the designer that made US First Lady’s Michelle Obama Inaugural Ball dress as well as the one she is wearing on the US Vogue March 2009 cover ) gave the W Club it’s second doll, Bewitching Hour Luchia. Upon seeing the pre-release photos, almost everyone agreed that she was channelling Madonna’s current style. When the dolls started arriving and actual doll photos started to circulate, the impression was even stronger

The three Wise Men (called in that time “magicians”, although they were actually astronomers) saw from the far east the birth of a star over the town of Bethlehem, and they discovered the meaning behind the star: a savior had been born. They traveled to Bethlehem, and along the way they found King Herod, whom they told of the birth of the new King. Herod ordered them to find the baby and return to give the news of the place where the little Messiah had been born.

I wish to all of you a happy new year, with lots of health, love and happiness! and are are the best wishes ever, from my favourite writer, Neil Gaiman: …I hope you will have a wonderful year, that you’ll dream dangerously and outrageously, that you’ll make something that didn’t exist before you made it, that you will be loved and that you will be liked, and that you will have people to love and to like in return. And, most importantly (because I think there should be more kindness and more wisdom in the world right now), that you will, when you need to be, be wise, and that you will always be kind.

I might be a little late in getting around to everyone’s blog because I am busy reading John Grisham’s novel “The Appeal,” one of my Christmas gifts. From the Publisher: Politics has always been a dirty game. Now justice is, too. In a crowded courtroom in Mississippi, a jury returns a shocking verdict against a chemical company accused of dumping toxic waste into a small town’s water supply, causing the worst “cancer cluster” in history.

Last year, Albert Elbaz, the designer of the veritable fashion house of Lanvin , had decorated the Faubourg St. Honore store’s windows with mannequins wearing his designs. He then release six porcelain dolls (more like figurines really) with Lanvin fashions taken right out of his sketch book, reminding us of the Theatre De la Mode era, back after the 2nd WW, when French designers dressed miniature mannequins with their designs and travelled them around the world.
