Ok, so there were two Fashion Royalty collections: the second one was called Dazzle and it was explained to us (for those who follow the storyline of the doll’s characters) that this was Vanessa Perrin’s photoshoot ambience and inspiration for the new W Cosmetics campaign, while the Foundation collection is the characters outside the studio looking for Veronique Perrin. If Eugenia goes out with that outfit to look for her cousin, she may end up where she does noe want to go…

Last Saturday, Integrity Toys organized a webinar for the unveiling of their 2010 collections. The on-line event was attended by approximately 400 persons and featured all the company’s designers presenting their doll lines and commenting on their inspiration, while at the same time the attendees could vote on their favourites.

I have to admit that I like the American Girl mini-dolls such as the Kaya doll shown above (especially the cute mini-book that comes with them!) However I never dreamed of re-dressing them as some of my friends have! They have done fantastic jobs AND have posed them in the snow and with spring flowers – See them many of them at this link If you’re interested in this hobby . . . or just want to own one, we have some available (and they are 15% off on our Customer Appreciation Day every Thursday) Click on the names to see Kaya or Nellie ! When these dolls first came out for Pleasant Company (before Mattel bought it and changed the name to American Girl) the eyes were inset (they didn’t open and close)

My third Izannah Walker style doll. Bertha is a one of a kind doll made of muslin fabric with hand sculpted paper clay head and shoulder plate. The head was covered with stockinet fabric, then painted in acrylics

This is my first Izannah Walker style doll after taking an online class with Dixie Redmond. I had fun sculpting her face with paper clay and then covering it up with stockinet fabric. She was a challenge and a learning experience for me.

At 11:30 AM I was scheduled to view the new products in a private Tonner showroom. I knew I would be seeing Cami and Jon but I had no idea what else to expect.

This is my second Izannah Walker inspired doll made with a pattern designed by Dixie Redmond. I’m loving the way these are starting to turn out. She’s looking pretty much like an Izannah doll to me

Here is one of the new Cissy dolls from the 2010 Madame Alexander line. What is up with the terrifying-looking dolls this year? Is it a reaction to the economy and the weather or what

The rest is here:

…would Mattel charge $150 for a doll like December Turquoise? One year ago, Mattel introduced their Princess and the Frog doll. Here are images from the Disney cartoon.

I let this image sink in for two days before I wrote this post. When I first received the email containing the pictures of this new Avant Guard doll, Hot Trot, I thought of the Inferno Vita doll with her fire orange streaked hair and black eyes. The more I looked at this doll, the worse she gets.

Barbie, as most collectors know already, is no stranger to real-life designers making outfits for her. She celebrated her 50th Anniversary last year with a spectacular runway show at New York Fashion Week.

The very talented Tatiana has started making a series of rooms in 1/6 scale – all together they will make a big dollhouse. I will be presenting her work here in the blog – one room each month.

According to a W Club Update email sent out yesterday, Jason Wu has “taken on a consulting position for the coming year with Madame Alexander, to help guide and update the direction of a few of their doll lines, including Cissy.” Does this mean that Cissy will get a waist, thin legs and turquoise eye shadow? Noooooooooo. Will we get a Mini Cissy

It was a cold snowy day on February 14, 2006 when we left Woodstock in the late afternoon headed for Manhattan and FAO Schwarz where the first W Club event was to be held. We actually made very good time into the city and had plenty of time to eat and traipse around on Fifth Avenue.

Black Lace arrived yesterday and I couldn’t wait to rip open the shipper to see if this one was as wonderful as the first two. I was not disappointed. Of course I don’t see how this one should be the same price as the others because she doesn’t really have an outfit…but…the lingerie she is wearing is very nicely made

Blue Caprice is as close to perfect as any Integrity doll I’ve ever purchased. In these pictures she is standing without support. I snipped a few stray hairs and threads and that’s it.

Twice a year, Osvaldo Vasquez, aka Ovaz, debuts a new line of breathtaking gowns for 1/6 scale dolls. His creations are, for the most part, not for the faint-of-heart.

This was an old shudder door which I removed the inside from and added a ¼ inch plywood. The textured background was painted in acrylics with various colors and designs.

After writing my last post about the American Girl doll Rebecca, and the Chanukah and Sabbath accessories that can be purchased for her, I did a search for Jewish Dolls on Google. But before going there I want to share somthing I’ve wondered about on and off for the last few weeks. The Fashion Royalty doll called Night Warrior comes with a cross on a chain.
