Those lucky (?) enough to purchase $2000 worth of lingerie from VENUS SECRET in Taiwan will get a Fashion Royalty doll with the Eugenia sculpt. Nice! How many of you doll collectors spend $2000.

I may have mentioned several times previously that Agnes is not a favorite sculpt of mine. I’ve tried them all but have never been able to warm up to any version except Firefly, also from Oz

For all of you who, like me, love to look at (or even aquire) modern furniture for their dolls, here is an article in the New York Times about them. I resent the implication that people who collect stuff like that are eccentric and weird – it is the only thing that marred this article for me.

Once again American Girl has opened a new store – this time in the Park Meadows Mall outside of Denver! Pictured above is Nikki – if you remember she was the Doll of the Year in 2007 and she’s from Colorado . .

This is a Tonner doll named Hypnotic Antoinette. James Griffen, aka Paradise Blue on the doll boards, has captured her beauty in this photograph. He repainted her eye-makeup and liner, deepened the shade of her lips and glossed them using Golden Fluid Acrylic paints and then sealed his work with “Golden Varnish”.

A press release sent out yesterday outlined the future location of the corporate headquarters of the TDC. I’m quite pleased. As if the other location wasn’t close enough, this one is down the street from my hairdresser.

I was sure that I wasn’t going to purchase more NuFace dolls; My intention was to concentrate on the more sophisticated dolls and fashions but when I saw these two, I ordered. I am very, very pleased with them and their garments. My introduction to Lillith was with the convention set of the twins Lillith and Eden.

It seems that I’ve been asking this question on and off for almost two years regarding the prices consumers are willing to pay for certain dolls. This week it’s a buyers’ market when it comes to Integrity’s Gene Marshall line and several Fashion Royalty/NuFace dolls. I have never, in my years of collecting Fashion Royalty dolls, seen an established dealer selling FR dolls at a discounted price.

Lisa Irinyi When I found out that Lisa did not use any special effects or pixel manipulation I was amazed. This photograph of A Brighter Side Kyori just blows me away.

The Monogram Collection was created to showcase real Jason Wu fashions done in 1/6 scale. The first dolls, released sporadically since the first charity-connected doll, Lifeball , did wear originals by Jason.

This year we’re in for some new and stange concepts in the Fashion Royalty related lines. There were two collections presented and one of them had every FR incarnation included: regular FR dolls , Nu Face (younger models) dolls and Homme (men line) dolls

Ok, so there were two Fashion Royalty collections: the second one was called Dazzle and it was explained to us (for those who follow the storyline of the doll’s characters) that this was Vanessa Perrin’s photoshoot ambience and inspiration for the new W Cosmetics campaign, while the Foundation collection is the characters outside the studio looking for Veronique Perrin. If Eugenia goes out with that outfit to look for her cousin, she may end up where she does noe want to go…

Last Saturday, Integrity Toys organized a webinar for the unveiling of their 2010 collections. The on-line event was attended by approximately 400 persons and featured all the company’s designers presenting their doll lines and commenting on their inspiration, while at the same time the attendees could vote on their favourites.

I have to admit that I like the American Girl mini-dolls such as the Kaya doll shown above (especially the cute mini-book that comes with them!) However I never dreamed of re-dressing them as some of my friends have! They have done fantastic jobs AND have posed them in the snow and with spring flowers – See them many of them at this link If you’re interested in this hobby . . . or just want to own one, we have some available (and they are 15% off on our Customer Appreciation Day every Thursday) Click on the names to see Kaya or Nellie ! When these dolls first came out for Pleasant Company (before Mattel bought it and changed the name to American Girl) the eyes were inset (they didn’t open and close)

This is my first Izannah Walker style doll after taking an online class with Dixie Redmond. I had fun sculpting her face with paper clay and then covering it up with stockinet fabric. She was a challenge and a learning experience for me.

Here is one of the new Cissy dolls from the 2010 Madame Alexander line. What is up with the terrifying-looking dolls this year? Is it a reaction to the economy and the weather or what

I let this image sink in for two days before I wrote this post. When I first received the email containing the pictures of this new Avant Guard doll, Hot Trot, I thought of the Inferno Vita doll with her fire orange streaked hair and black eyes. The more I looked at this doll, the worse she gets.
