Here is the full text of an email I just received from Haute Doll: Dear Valued Partner: We wanted you to be among the first to know that after many wonderful years of publishing Haute Doll, we have decided to turn the publication over to Madavor Media/Doll Reader.
This week’s featured photo was taken by Veronica Hage who posts on Doll Divas and the W Club. The doll was originally an Aerodynamic Vanessa Fashion Royalty. She is dressed in the fashion from Bewitching Luchia

If you go to the Haute Doll site and try to order a subscription or renew an existing one you will get the message “no products found.” Yesterday the unconfirmed statement that they were shutting down erupted on one of the doll boards and spread like wild fire. Later in the day, HD sent the message that they would be issuing a statement

Today our photo is of the beautiful Zita Charles by Wayne Nilson aka Wayne in FL. She is the Zita from the Stardust Convention collection known as “Hostess With The Mostest.” The original dolls looked like this: Wayne restyled her hair by removing her white streak and moving the position of one of the curls.

I recently joined a webgroup that is posting a picture a day of ONE of their dolls! I honestly don’t think I have 365 dolls (my husband & kids probably think differently) but it’s been lots of fun – and I wanted to share with you! First of all is pictured my Raving Beauty doll* – I got her when I was in 4th grade. She had to attend a Dolly Spa because this is what she looked like several years ago: Sad isn’t it? But she refreshed nicely and stands proudly in Millie’s Studio! (We won’t mention that’s she’s waiting for the creation of the blue taffeta dress she arrived in!) Others wondered if she was a composition doll but actually after World War II, the doll industry began using hard plastic for dolls including Toni and Ginny dolls.

Gene’s Final Curtain Call ~ Part III ~ More Favorite Gene Photographs
Last night I dressed two of my Gene dolls in fashions recently acquired. They are waiting to be photographed and I visualized them looking over their shoulders as they retreated from the front of a stage on the last night of their performance. In a few days I will have begun to attend my first and last Gene Marshall convention.

I am so bummed about the new Miss Revlon doll. I keep hoping that each time I look at her I will find something pretty about her face but it’s not working. I wanted to adore this doll because I had a Little Miss Revlon doll as a child

The W Club 2010 Upgrade Fashion Royalty Doll “Spring Forward” has shipped. Eugenia has a gorgeous sculpt and the screening on this version is unusual. Her lips are pale peach and she’s wearing bright turquoise eyeshadow.

This morning the Sunday Breakfast starring Miss Piggy and Kermit also saw a successful charity auction raise more than $11,000 to benefit A Friend’s House. The centerpiece dolls were Miss Piggy as “Swined & Dined” – LE 100 and Kermit the Frog as “A Fly in His Soup” – LE 100. Kermit is a new character and will be available later on in the line.

The theme of this Tonner convention is “The Sun, The Moon and The Stars.” It will celebrate the fashion and pop culture influences in Robert Tonner’s doll designs. Sounds fabulous, doesn’t it? I am not at the convention, unfortunately, but I am following it on the Tonner convention blog and through friends

While I’m visiting my daughter and waiting for our first grandchild to arrive, I decided to create a paper mache giraffe. He is going to be 6 ft tall and will be displayed in the baby’s jungle theme bedroom. Here is the giraffe which was started using a chicken wire sculpture.
